Research Description
Studying on the bioactive extracts or compounds from the natural source, especially from the medicinal plants, is one of the important ways to develop new medicines currently. We extract the traditional Chinense medicines or folk herbs and then isolate and purify the extracts by various chromatographic methods. The structures of the isolated compounds are identified through the spectroscopic analyses. Meanwhile, the isolated compounds are tested on antitumor, anti-platelet aggregation, antioxidant, antiinflammatory, vasorelaxing, and osteoporosis activities to investigate the active components. The materials we have studied include Phyllanthus species, Garcinia mangostana, Hemerocallis fulva, Helminthostachys zeylanica, Vitis thunbergii, Cissus repens, Aster species, etc.
