研究簡介:

沈郁強研究員長期深耕創新中醫藥（iTCM）與中藥現代化，於COVID-19疫情期間全力投入，力助攻團隊成功研發臺灣清冠一號（NRICM101）與臺灣清冠二號（NRICM102），並結合次世代定序與多種動物模型，系統性解析其藥理與分子作用機制。疫情期間，清冠一號有效預防輕症惡化，清冠二號則顯著降低重症患者死亡率達74%，成為全球中醫藥參與重大傳染病防治的指標性成果。相關研究發表於國際頂尖期刊 Pharmacological Research（IF 10.334），並獲台北生技獎金獎等多項國內外獎項肯定。清冠一號已推廣至60餘國，國人公費使用累積逾200萬人次，創造超過百億新台幣經濟效益，展現深遠的臨床、公共衛生與產業影響力。

在此基礎上，沈研究員進一步證實清冠一號對A型流感及其變異株同樣具保護效果，可作為預防2025年流感重症的重要防疫工具；並運用COPD與Poly I:C動物模型，深入探討清冠系列中藥對先天免疫反應、Toll樣受體（TLR）、JAK/STAT、PI3K/AKT、NET形成及細胞激素風暴等關鍵訊號軸之調控機制，證實可減少肺部損傷、抑制免疫風暴與血栓形成，展現優異的抗病毒與抗發炎潛力。清冠二號則進一步擴展應用至慢性阻塞性肺疾病（COPD）與急性病毒性肺炎，並結合真實世界數據（RWD）與臨床試驗設計，積極回應國人慢性呼吸道疾病與急性肺損傷之未滿足醫療需求。

在適應症拓展方面，沈研究員持續推進臺灣清冠系列的臨床版圖：清冠一號已延伸應用於COVID後腦霧（long COVID brain fog）；清冠二號則聚焦食物中毒（邦克烈酸 bongkrekic acid）所致多重器官衰竭及COPD相關肺纖維化，其抗發炎與抗纖維化效果優於類固醇，填補現有治療空窗，為肺纖維化及多重器官衰竭患者帶來實質新契機。

從急性傳染病防治進展至神經退行性疾病與中風後遺症照護領域，沈研究員帶領團隊開發臺灣醒腦一號（NRICM301），並參與臺灣清腦一號（NRICM201）研發，將中醫藥應用自COVID-19拓展至失智症與中風後認知／運動功能缺損等長期照護議題。臺灣醒腦一號聚焦中風後遺症，已取得台灣與美國專利，完成技轉並進入Essence產品生產階段，即將啟動臨床試驗；臺灣清腦一號則鎖定失智症，已完成臨床試驗規劃與專利布局。此外，他亦積極評估中醫藥對呼吸道融合病毒（RSV）、人類偏肺病毒（HMPV）、登革熱病毒（Dengue）等引發之多重器官衰竭，以及失眠（insomnia）相關之失智症、帕金森氏症（PD）、視神經黃斑退化、慢性腎病（CKD）等中老年常見慢性退行性疾病的治療潛力，已獲多項前瞻性研究成果。

憑藉在感染免疫與神經退行性疾病領域的卓越貢獻，沈郁強研究員於2020、2022、2023、2024及2025年五度入選美國史丹佛大學「學術生涯科學影響力」全球前2%頂尖科學家名單，充分彰顯其國際學術地位。他的研究不僅為國人提供更安全有效的防疫與疾病治療選項，更透過技術轉移、專利佈局與國際市場推廣，成功將NRICM系列創新中醫藥推向全球，推動傳統醫藥現代化，為臺灣生技醫療產業開創新局，並強化我國在國際醫藥科技版圖中的關鍵戰略位置。
